   We will begin any emergency services. This typically involves removal of any standing water, removal of non-salvageable saturated materials, placement of dehumidifiers and air movers to facilitate the drying process.  There is a science behind our actions, and we will explain the process the entire way through, but we encourage questions! We are experienced and we do this every day, but this is (hopefully) your first foray into this world, and we encourage you to seek to understand every step of the way.
3. Working With Your Insurance Adjustor
   After the initial stabilization phase; we will work with your insurance company to walk you through the process from helping facilitate the handling of contents, electronics, textiles, etc, to estimating the restoration of the home directly with the insurance company. We will work directly with your adjuster to make sure the full scope of repairs is understood and valued appropriately so that we can rebuild your home to pre-loss condition (or better!)  Each phase of the process is invoiced separately (mitigation and repairs).  Most of the time, the mitigation (emergency services) are paid directly by your insurance company.  So even though you receive the invoice from us, it is usually paid by your insurance adjuster, either directly to you or directly to us.

If your water damage is extensive enough to require repairs to be permitted, we will work with your local jurisdiction to pull permits and make sure that all inspections are scheduled accordingly. You can have peace of mind knowing that your repairs were performed in accordance with all local building codes and construction requirements.
5. Working With Your Mortgage Lender
   Many times, your mortgage company will be included in the settlement checks from the insurance company. This can be an arduous process to work with their claims department in order to get their signature or to request draws. Our professionals are experienced in dealing with mortgage companies and compiling all the required paperwork to make this process as streamlined as possible.

What Can You Do When Water Damage Strikes?

We know you want to feel like you are doing something to facilitate the process. We have compiled the following list of things that you can do, in order to be an active participant in your restoration project.

• Notify your insurance company. Document all phone numbers, email addresses, and claim numbers for ease of facilitation.
• Notify your friends and family. Support during this time will be great for you!
• Find a place to stay: if your home is uninhabitable, work directly with the insurance company or adjuster to find alternative living arrangements. Many times, your insurance will cover the cost of shelter for a specified period after the loss. They may also cover emergency food and clothing supplies necessary to continue your normal day-to-day schedule.
• Photo document the entire process. A photo is like a thousand words, and many times photos are essential in documenting this process, loss of personal property, and even structural elements of your home prior to the loss.
